Our Work / Commercial

Woolston Centre

The project was primarily heating and plumbing, but also included gas modifications to the new kitchen, boiler and water heater.

We were contracted for the supply and management of labour and materials for installation of the mechanical services including LTHW, domestic services, above ground drainage, gas and ventilation.

Space heating was provided by new radiators installed throughout the existing building and the new extension.

Domestic and heating services were primarily installed in copper pipe with soldered capillary fittings. The new gas main to the new plantroom was also installed in copper.

The BMS system was installed to provide a comfortable working and social environment for the employee’s and the public that used the centre and its facilities.

The Newly refurbished building with a purpose built extension sits nicely alongside the old school combining to form a wonderfully enhance community facility. The large hall, new meeting rooms, breakout areas and the floating bridge cage make this the place in Woolston to hold community activities and private parties.

The works with a busy residential area and live school next door took 10 months to complete.

Contract was placed by Morgan Sindall plc on behalf of Southampton City Council.

The mechanical project was worth £79,500.00 with only 2 tradesmen needed to complete the works on time.
